We have had lots of stuff go on since the last time we talked. We had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed just staying home and relaxing. Ashleigh REALLY understood what was going on this year. I don't think that she slept...which made it hard for Santa to deliver the presents! Catie loved opening her gifts. I don't know that she fully understood what was going on but she liked it. After that, we had their birthdays. Can you believe that Catie is 2 and Ashleigh is 5? This year we had their birthday party together because, well, it was easier on us. They decided to have a Princess party and instead of me making everything this year, I ordered everything and it was so much better and less stressful. It turned out great. The house was full of kids and the girls loved it! This year the ladies decided to donate blankets and dog/cat toys instead of getting presents from friends. It was THE best! Everyone was so thoughtful and brought so much for the animals. We went to the Bryant Animal Shelter and delivered everything to the animals and the girls had so much fun. I thought that maybe they were too young to understand what we were doing. There was one dog (Jenny) that Ashleigh was really worried about because she looked sad. On the way home she said that it made her happy that we got all of those presents for the dogs because she really thinks that it made them feel happy especially Jenny. Right then I knew that they weren't too young and that she got it. Proud moment! At the girls birthday checkups we discovered that Catie has some significant vision problems and is now the proud owner of some blue Diego glasses. Catie is a little more challenging when it comes to keeping her glasses on but it does make it easier that Ashleigh has a pair as well. Ashleigh is growing up so fast and I can hardly believe that she will start Kindergarten in the fall. She is so smart and sweet. Catie is 2 going on 12...she is talking...ALOT and she decided that since she was 2 now she no longer needs to wear diapers. She potty trained herself. Who does that? We are not complaining at all...just amazed! She is super smart and FULL of energy! Some days they are friends and other days not so much. I will tell you this...they are very protective of each other. They can be mean to each other but NO ONE ELSE can! Ashleigh is still doing her Karate and should be receiving her black belt in October. Catie is going to start gymnastics in the fall...as an outlet for all of her energy. Hope all is well with all of you! Enjoy the pictures....hugs and kisses!
